The lodge was consecrated on 13th September 1944. The central emblem on the banner which was designed by W.Bro. Colin Childs PJGD depicts the remains of an ancient tree locally known as the “Latimer Elm” and under its shelter Bishop Latimer (1487-1555) is reputed to have preached to the people.
