Banners of Knights Templar in Hertfordshire (Continued)

Standon Priory Preceptory No: 581

The Preceptory was consecrated on 5th May 1993, with the banner being dedicated on 5th May 1999.

The banner depicts a golden rampant lion under a helmet. The remaining founders were contacted, but they have no knowledge of the banner origins. One of the founders, Tom Owen designed it, and it is believed his wife made the banner.

The helmet does not appear to be Templar in origin or design. Unfortunately the banner went missing after a Provincial Priory meeting in 2016. The Preceptory are reviewing the requirements for replacing the banner.
