The Red Lion Hotel in Redbourn High Street was the regular Sunday lunchtime rendezvous of several founders, who, having discovered similar interests, spread the word that a new lodge was being considered, based in Redbourn. The response was instantaneous and local residents, members of London and other Provincial lodges, quickly organised themselves into Redbourn Lodge, which was consecrated with thirty one founders and eight original members. on 10th May 1973. With the permission of the Vicar, St. Mary's Church, Redbourn this emblem formed the basis of the Lodge Crest shown on the banner.
The banner was presented by Bro. Dennis Mortimer and dedicated on 15th January, 1976.
