The idea to form a lodge at Hartsbourne Golf & Country Club came from several golfing members who were masons. The consecration took place at Great Queen Street on 4th. November 1998, conducted by R W Bro. Michael Batham Jones, then Provincial Grand Master. 

The banner was dedicated 12th November 2001.  The main emblem is simply two Hertfordshire Harts facing each other on a squared pavement taken from the coat of arms of Hertfordshire with the apt motto for freemasons, ‘Nothing But Loyalty.’
