Banners of Craft Lodges in Hertfordshire (Continued)

Goffs Oak Lodge No: 7169

The idea of forming a lodge to cover an apparent void in the Goffs Oak area of Hertfordshire was developed following a discussion between several eminent members of the craft. The result was that the Goffs Oak Lodge No 7169 was consecrated by the VW Bro The Rev. Dr. Joseph Moffett on 23rd April, 1952. The central theme of the Crest is the old oak tree which, prior to its destruction, had stood in the centre of the village; however, a new sapling has since been planted in its place.

The banner was presented in memory of W.Bro.F. Hutchins and dedicated on Wednesday 18th March 1953 by the R.W. Bro. the Rev. Joseph Moffett, , Provincial Grand Master. The banner was presented by Bro. L.L.G.Lobb, Senior Warden. During 2002 it was re-furbished as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations.
