Banners of Craft Lodges in Hertfordshire (Continued)

Mimmine and Bergnet Lodge No: 4932
Following the amalgamation of the Mimmine and the Bergnet Lodges, the newly named Mimmine and Bergnet Lodge retained the number of the original Mimmine Lodge No 4932 having been amalgamated at a ceremony held on 14th January 2016

As a consequence of the amalgamation the lodge requested  a new lodge banner which was commissioned in 2018, and completed in early 2019. The banner is illustrated below and is due to be dedicated on 14th March, 2019.

The new Banner combines elements of the two lodge banners from the original Mimmine and Bergnet Lodges.

The old Mimmine Banner shows a five barred gate with the words: “Charity, Prudence, Justice, Fortitude and Temperance. It depicts the connections with the area and many ancient toll bars found where the old turnpike roads cross the Mimms district. Under the gate is the motto ‘Undismayed and Faithful’. The original banner was presented to the Lodge by W.Bro. LW Nash and W.Bro. CH Nethercott and dedicated on 30th September 1964. â€‹â€‹

The old Bergnet Lodge Banner incorporated the Arms of Barnet council, the old Tudor hall and the red and white roses each side of crossed swords that commemorate the Battle of Barnet in 1471. The motto "Labor omnia vincit" is a Latin phrase meaning "Work conquers all" or "Steady work overcomes all things"). Both of the old lodge banners are now stored at Fleet House.
